  • MIO manufacturing production accounted for 50.2% of global GDP (USD) in 2019.
  • The Tri-regional 5 year usd fixed CAGR’s are: Americas 1.7%, Asia 2.5% and Europe 2.4%.
  • The 5-year CAGR for 2019-24 for the MIO as a whole was +2.61%, this is 0.3% higher than the period 2013-18 which had a CAGR of 2.31%.
  • China is the largest region of the MIO, it contributed 47.5% of the total value of production to the MIO in 2019, comparatively Latvia is the smallest region in the MIO comprising just 0.02% of the total value in 2019.
  • China dominates global production, it accounts for 69% of textile production, 68% of aggregate production and 73% of metallurgy machinery.
  • China’s 5-year CAGR is 2.9%. This is 0.3% higher than the total MIO CAGR however the extent of the coronavirus effects could have significant long term effects on the Chinese and global economy.
  • China’s fastest growing machinery sector is it’s Semiconductors & Electronics Machinery sector which has a CAGR 11.5% higher and the 12-year average for all regions.
  • The USA has the highest nominal GDP of all MIO regions and ranks 2nd in MIO production value.
  • The USA accounts for 40.2% of global aerospace production and 19.5% of global HVAC production, the largest and second largest contributors to these sectors respectively.
