Benefiting from a desire for ever-increasing automation in industry, collaborative robots have seen a recent spike in popularity. Further tied to the rising cost and lack of labour needed to complete menial and monotonous tasks, it is easy to foresee why cobots could become a relevant addition to the future workforce. This report provides current and accurate market information on the collaborative robot market incorporating revenue and unit data on a regional and industry level. It includes well modelled forecasts with clear and transparent assumptions for all of the market segments shown out from 2024 and 2029.

  • Interact Analysis forecasts that the annual revenue for cobots will reach $1.94 billion in 2028, accounting for 15.7% of the total robot market.
  • In 2019, global collaborative robot revenues totalled $669.9 million, a 15.6% increase from 2018.
  • In 2019, 22,459 cobots were shipped which was up 18.8% year-on-year.
  • The biggest consumers of collaborative robots in 2019 were Automotive and Electronics and are predicted to remain so in 2024.
  • The three biggest uses of cobots in 2019 were material handling, assembly and and pick and place and accounted for 71.9% of the collaborative robot revenues and predicted to hold a 63% share by 2024.
  • The top leading global vendors were; Universal Robots, Techman, FANUC and AUBO and accounted for more than 60% of the market share in sales.
  • By 2024, it is predicted that <5kg and 5-9kg cobots will account for the majority of sales with a total of 80.3 % revenue share and 85.1% shipment share.
